We developed the MARS-R Online Calculator.

What is the MARS-R Online Calculator?

The MARS-R Online Calculator is a computer program.

It helps doctors understand a disease called systemic mastocytosis better.

Systemic mastocytosis is a rare disease.

People with this disease have too many special cells in their body.

These cells are called mast cells.

The disease can happen because of a change in the genes (a mutation).

One important mutation is called KIT D816V.

What does the MARS-R Online Calculator do?

The user enters the relevant medical information about the patient into the input fields.

The calculator helps to find out the risk of the disease.

It shows how serious the disease might be.

Doctors enter certain data from the patient.

Then, the calculator gives a risk group:

  • low risk
  • medium risk
  • high risk

This helps doctors plan the best treatment for each patient.

Important

The online calculator does not replace a medical examination.

The result is only a help.

The doctor always decides what is best for the patient.

How to use the online calculator

  1. Open the MARS-R Online Calculator.
  2. Enter the patient’s data.
  3. Click Calculate.
  4. The result will show the estimated risk.
